Hanging with my Peeps!

This weekend is a holiday and hockey weekend and in my house. Yup, the NCAA hockey tournament is going on and our local collage team is in it - Go Huskies!
Therefore, I will be hanging with my " peeps" all weekend watching the hockey games.

I recently got the new My Creative Time treat slider box dies in my mail and finally got to play with them a bit. Oh, the possibilities!

I am so happy with how this turned out. I used some off-white card stock and stamped it with a chicken wire looking stamp which is also from My Creative Time. I added some burlap ribbon and twine so the chocolate candies inside wouldn't fall out.

The chick is from the Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge and her lil' Easter bonnet from the Forever Young cartridge. I sized them both on my gypsy to measure a total height of 2".

I added some faux stitching and a sentiment from My Scrappy Moms Spring Fling stamp set.

I can't wait to make more of these.

I am linking this little cutie up to the Easter challenge going on now over at Fantabulous Cricut.
Check it out!

Hope you all have a super holiday weekend ahead of you.

Sweet Easter Treats

Happy Friday!

I came across a cute little spring treat recipe on Printerest for these super easy treats.

You can see it here. Aren't they just the cutest thing? So yummy as well. Watch out, you'll eat the whole batch!. I packaged them up in a  little bag for a neighbor.

The bunny svg is from SVG cutting files. So sweet and adorable.
The bag topper is from the Silhouette online store.
I added a bit of burlap and some pink ribbon to tie it all up.
The sentiment is from My Scrappy Moms.

I think I need to make a few more of these.

Have a super day!!

A fun little Easter treat

Just a quick post toady to share a cute little Easter treat holder.
The holder and bunny svg's are from SVG Cutting Files. So super easy and quick to put together. The sentiment and tag are from My Creative Time and of course some Twine from the Twinery.

Great little treats for neighbors, teachers or place cards at the Easter table.
I think I will keep this one at my work desk for a little spring inspiration.

Got Eggs?

It's Design Team day for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.

I am working on the last of my Easter projects and the Hoppy Easter cut file is perfect for a few of my cards.
My base of the card is a file from the Silhouette Store and the sentiment is from My Scrappy Moms Stamps. I popped up the bunny with double thickness of foam tape so he looks like  he is leaping off to deliver those eggs.

Please be sure to stop by PPPR today to see what my DT sisters have created for you. They are amazing!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge- Ribbon with embossing

I am so excited- this week over at Die Cuttin' Diva's I am sponsoring the challenge!

The challenge this week is to make a project using embossing and ribbon. Ok, we all can do this!

For my DT inspiration project for this challenge, I found a super cute treat holder tutorial on Pinterest. Gotta love the Pinterest. You can find it here.
side view: see how the candy sits in there nicely.
Oh my, I love this treat holder. It makes a big impact for being only 2" x 3".
I have visions of making them for absolutely every occasion!

I put my own little twist to it by adding my own special touches and a sentiment from the BugBites Candy Speaks stamp set.

The Squirrel is from SVG Cuts Acorn Autumn set. I embossed his tail and the trim of his hat. I added glossy accents to his nose and glasses and finally a little candy tucked safely inside.

Wouldn't they be great for place setting treats and name cards.

I can't wait to make more of these in all sorts of themes. Off to cut chicks and bunnies!

Now, as I mentioned I am sponsoring this weeks challenge over at Die Cuttin' Diva's  So be sure to link up a project for a chance to win the BugBites Candy Speaks stamp set!

Good luck!

Happy Spring?

Well, it's suppose to be the first day of spring however, in MN you would never know it. Brrr....it's cold.

Here is a little project to bring spring into my house. It's a SVG file from SVG cuts.
So super simple to put together and so darn cute. The flower centers are tootsie pop suckers.

I made three of these, two for friends and one for myself.

Here's wishing everyone a Happy Spring!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge- Bunny Challenge

There's a new Challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas this week. The challenge is to use a bunny on your project.

I have been hooked on little treat holders lately and I had these little clear bags in my closet for about 2 years and finally found a project for them.
I made the topper with my Silhouette software but any shape could work...there are many options within several cricut carts. All you need to do is size it to the width of your good bag and then fold in half. Or, cut a rectangle piece of cards stock and use a border punch.

Then the fun part of this project was filling it with treats. A little paper grass and chocolate!
I hope you will link  up a project. I can't wait to see all the bunnies!

Here's how I did it....
6.5"x3"x2" clear box bag
All papers from my stash
Treat bag topper designed in Silhouette Software to 3.25" wide and approx 4" tall then folded in half
Insert card stock cut at 3' x 10" and scored/folded at 6.5" and 8.5"
I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the front bottom as well as an EK border punch for little circles on the top label part.
Rabbit/layers cut at 2.5" from Create a Critter cartridge
Buttons are made using the Stitched Button Dies from My Creative Time.
Twine from Twinery
The sentiments are from My Scrappy Moms stamps.

Freshly Brewed Cupcake Cutie Release Hop

I am so excited! Long ago, I was selected to be a guest designer for this March release. Heather has just the cutest stamps so I am so excited to be participating.

If you are just arriving to the hop, you will want to go back to the start at Freshly Brewed Challenges. If you've arrived from the blog of talented Celeste then you are in the right spot!

This month, Freshly Brewed is releasing another NEW Cupcake Cutie rubber stamp. She is super sweet and very fun.

Welcome to FBD: VANILLA CUPCAKE CUTIE and the new HI CUPCAKE sentiment stamp.

I used this adorable stamp and did some paper piecing. Meaning, I stamped her several times on different types of paper and hand cut out the parts I wanted in each paper and glued them together. For things like her hair and cupcake, I simply colored them with my markers.

The sentiment is from an old My Creative Time stamp set and the scrolls are just a stamp that I had picked up on clearance some place. I added some brads and a few scraps of ribbon and it was done. Such a super fun image to work with.

Now I want to share some info with you so you too can get your very own Vanilla Cupcake cutie!

For this release weekend ONLY, if you purchase Vanilla Cupcake Cutie, you will get the Hi Cupcake sentiment for FREE! Just use the code FREECAKE when you check out!
What an awesome deal!!

I hope you have enjoyed your time here at my blog. But now I urge you to keep hopping to see what the other fabulous DT members have to show you, like the very creative Sarah!

Here is the entire hop line-up in case you get lsot along the way:

Snow Wonderful!

Not sure where you all are today, but in my neck of the woods it has been snowing all day.
The only thing to do on a day like this is make snow angels.
I put this little card together quickly using a cut file from Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbon called
Let it Snow. I embossed the background and added a tag and some buttons. Nothing more needed.
Check out the PPPR blog today to pick up the Freebie Friday file.

Gosh, when will spring ever come?

Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbon Design Team Day

Welcome to Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons Design Team day. The DT has been crafting and creating some fabulous new projects using the fabulous SVG files over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. There is always something new, so be sure you stop over there and take a look.
Well, I am down to the last of my St. Patrick's Day projects. This one I am really proud of. I think it turned out cute. But based on the amount of time I spent on it, it should have, right?

I came across a tutorial for a card that is a slider card and pop-up card all in one.
You can find the link to the tutorial here.
Here's how it looks all popped up and free standing.
The tutorial is quite good and easy to following clearly showing the process of how this type of card goes together.
From the side you can see the different layers.

I used  a couple different files from PPPR today for this card. For the majority of the cuts I am using the Luck of the Irish.  The dancer, shamrock, and pot of gold are all from this super cute set.
I am also using the Simple Banner shapes.

The sentiments are all from My Creative Time and papers are all from my stash, mostly scraps.

Hope you've enjoyed my new card and maybe found a new card style to try as well. Don't forget to hop by Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons to see what the rest of the Design Team as to share with you.

Die Cuttin' Diva's challenge - Green and Gold

It's time for a new Die Cuttin' Diva's challenge and this week we are looking for your projects with
green and gold!

I have been on a roll making St. Patrick's day cards and projects. Here's a little treat bag for a co-worker, friend or neighbor....heck, anyone you know and want to give a little something to.
They'll feel lucky to get something so special.
The treat topper is a SVG file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.
I sized it to fit my 4"x 5"  plastic treat bag.
I added a bit to the topper design by punching a strip of green paper with an EK bubble border
Once I assembled the topper, I added the Leprechaun face cut from the SImply Charmed Cricut cartridge. I stamped a Peachy Keen face, chalked his cheeks/ nose and adhered him to my topper with foam tape.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time as is the die cut it is stamped on.

I'm looking forward to seeing your wonderfully creative projects this week.

Have you found your pot of gold yet?

I haven't found gold but instead lots of chocolate!

I saw a similar project on Pinterest a week and with Cameo Creations St. Patrick's Day challenge going on, it was a good opportunity to give it a try.

I found the black pot over at SVG cuts- in the Party on Elm Street set. On their tutorial video, they mention it is sturdy and large enough for lots of candy. Well, I had visioned a very small pot to hold a few pieces of candy that I could put on my desk. So,  I simply sized the whole file down to what I felt would hold about 10 chocolates.
I cut all the pieces and started to glue. Well, the tabs to glue were pretty small, yet my black pot was still almost over 5" in diameter!
Not sure I could have glued everything if it was smaller. Once I had the base assembled I embossed the outer pieces and added some ribbon.
The leprechaun is from Lettering Delights. I sized him to 4" and added a Peachy Keen face from their February 2012 stamp of the month set.

As you can see it holds a lot of chocolate!

Sympathy card.

Hello everyone. Today I have a cute but sad card to share with you today. I actually made this last week, but did not want to post it in the event the my friend would see it.

Sympathy cards are not ones I enjoy making. But, my friend lost a 4 pawed family member last week so I wanted to send a little card to let her know I was thinking of her.
Pets are family, so it is so sad to lose one.
I used a cut file from SVG Cutting Files. This site has some really cute but simple files that go together quickly.

The papers were from a couple different 6x6 paper packs I have. I added some twine and a couple tiny buttons along with a sentiment from My Pinker stamper.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Food Fare Friday!

Oh my, I am glad it is Friday. It's has been a long week.
I think I mentioned a few posts back that I had spent some time scrapping with my friend and was working on recipe pages. That means I now have a bunch of things lined up for more  Food Fare Fridays- yeah!!

My friend made this once at a scrapbook retreat weekend. It's yummy and fast to make with only a few ingredients.
My page layout is an 8x8 amd I started with background patterned paper from my stash. I have been collecting food and recipe type paper for a few years now hoping that one day I might get all my favorite recipes scrapped. I have a long way to go.

I used the Fast Food Cricut cartridge for all the burger cuts. Even the little guy eating the burger is on that same cartridge. Some really fun cuts on that cart if you are doing recipe pages or anything food related.

If you try the recipe, I would love to hear if you liked it. Enjoy!

Luck of the Irish

Working on a few last minute green cards and thought I would try to link up to a few challenges as well.
Lisa over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons released a a fabulous new Luck of the Irish cut file set this week that I couldn't wait to use.

I brought in the Leprechaun and the shamrocks into my Silhouette Design software. I started with a rectangle and merged the shamrocks to create a shaped edge for the base of my card to measure 4.25x5.5". Next I sized the leprechaun and then cut all the pieces.  I used a Peachy Keen face stamp for my lucky leprechaun and added some teeny tiny black buttons to the front of his vest. A little Stampin' up ribbon and a sentiment from My Creative Time and my card was complete.
Here are the challenges I am going to link this happy guy to:

Celebrate the Occasion- Luck of the Irish challenge
Crafty Ribbons Challenge- Anything goes with Ribbon

Have a super day!

Makin' a splash with the Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge.

Its another challenge over at Die Cuttin' Diva's. This week is a super easy sketch that  has so many possibilities.

I used a svg file from the KaDoodle Bug Too Cool Penguins set.

I used pattern papers from Echo Parks Splash 6x6 paper pack. Some really fun papers in that stack. I cut my lil' penguin at 3" and put her on a wobble so she looks like she is riding the waves.
The sentiment is from one of my favorite CTMH stamp sets called Makin' Waves. Hope you will check out this weeks challenge and try out the sketch. We would love to see what you come up with.

Have a great week.

Don't Worry, Be Happy!

Happy Saturday. Hope you're weekend is off to a great start.

Fantabulous Cricut has a Fun with Puns challenge this week. When it comes to puns, there are so many bee-sabilities!

I turned to one of my favorite carts, Teddy Bear Parade and this adorable bear in her bee outfit.
I used a embossing folder for that honey comb effect on the background and added a grass border.
Super easy and quick.

Here's how I did it...
Base card is A2 size.
Bear/layers cut at 4" from Teddy Bear Parade cartridge
Martha Stewart border punch
Honeycomb Cuttlebug embossing folder
Sentiment from My Pink Stamper
Ribbon and buttons from my stash.
Glossy accents on the nose and foam tape to pop up the bear.
