Happy Independence Day!

I've been working on some last minute holiday cards to celebrate
the U.S. Independence day.

I see that watercolor backgrounds are all the rage in card making these days.

Therefore, I have been playing around with water and inks to see what technique I like best or gets the  results that actually are usable vs those where the color all runs together to look like I rubbed mud on the paper.

I don't have watercolor paint or pencils so limited to my Tim Holz inks and color burst powder in my stash.

I got three 4x6 pieces of red and blue color backgrounds that I felt were usable. One I used watercolor paper and the other two just plain white card stock

I sliced and diced these pieces into to smaller pieces to use it all up to make 6 cards. Actually,  I still have a few tiny snippets left that I am challenging myself to see if I can get one more card done.

The uncle Sam stamp is one from Stampendous that I purchased at Michael's a few years go for only $2. one of my favs in my stash.

Father's Day card.

Stopping by quickly today to share a Father's Day card I finished this week.
This is officially my first shaker card.

Don't forget to recognize all those Dad's out there...it's Sunday!

I was inspired by this card that Jennifer did as well as many others on Pinterest using this fun Fisherman stamp set.
I discovered this new to me Stamp Company, Your Next Stamp.
They have some really fun stuff.

There is a stamped fish within all those sequins in the lake.
I think I need to pop him up with more foam tape next time so the sequins don't sit in front of him. Right now he is barely peaking through the mass of blue-Lol!

Thanks again to Jennifer for the great inspiration.

Cool stuff used to make this card...

Food Fare Recipe Page

Hey there! Today is my Design Team day for SVG Cutting Files Cut Club.

Today I used a page layout from  new June bundle to make my recipe page.

The recipe is for French onion dip so I thought a little French flare would be in order so I added the Eiffel tower and the poodle.
Once I had the page designed in the Silhouette design studio,
I grouped it all and then resized it to 8x8.

The great thing about the page layouts is though they are designed for 12x12 they are easy to size for those 8x8 books as well.
